Sara Roizen is a fine artist and muralist living in Astoria, NY. She received her BFA in Painting from the Rhode Island School of Design and a Certificate in Creative Arts Therapy from New School University.

Sara’s focus in the studio has always been on the art making process, which means that most pieces are created in a very spontaneous way. As images begin to form, the artist allows the piece to unfold - in a dialogue between her emotions and the painting itself. She is inspired by the rhythms of nature as much as by the energy of the urban landscape.


In her recent work varied materials such as pastes, sand, paper, and found objects are combined with paint to create a unique synthesis of texture, form, and color.

In addition to pursuing her fine art, Sara is also an accomplished muralist and decorative painter and has created commissioned murals in Providence, Boston, and here in New York City. She loves working with art enthusiasts to create custom works on canvas, walls, or any other surface you can imagine!
